The Third Eye Chakra
Intuition is one’s ability to perceive things clearly, as they are. It’s an instinctive understanding and an immediate apprehension of the question at hand. This ability is governed by the Third Eye Chakra. The 6th chakra on the way up the body, the Third Eye Chakra is one of three chakras that deal in more spiritual energy. Here, we develop the ability to see clearly and foster understanding.
The Third Eye Chakra has the quality of subtle ether. Ether is the connectedness of space – it’s what exists between all things, regardless of time. The Third Eye Chakra is a chakra that, in a sense, reveals the nature of this ether to our understanding. It enables us to experience clear thought and mindfulness of the object at hand, and it’s considered to be the source of our dreams, as well as physic abilities, such as Clairvoyance.
The Third Eye Chakra is referred to as Ajna in Sanskrit. In the body, it’s located at the eyebrow and center of the forehead. In a similar capacity to our understanding of the brain, this chakra acts as the “command station” of the body and mind. It a place of consciousness that allows us to reflect upon the nature of things, including ourselves. It’s here that we look within ourselves and act as a witness or observer, a reflective point of view.

Element, Color and Sense Associated with Third Eye Chakra
The Third Eye Chakra is associated with the element of light. Light is the combination of all elements together – water, earth, fire and air. Like the nature of the chakra, light brings understanding to things. To see something in all its light is to see something completely. Light is understanding.
The color of the Third Eye Chakra is indigo blue, a powerful color relates to connection and the door to divinity. Indigo is a color of insight, a bridge between the left and right sides of the brain. It is a color of symbolic thinking and visionary abilities. It’s the spark that exists within someone’s eye – the ability to see a pathway and means of accomplishing or understanding things.
In this chakra is also your sense of justice, ethics, and truthfulness. It’s a sensory experience of sight that transcends the simple seeing of the material world around oneself. It’s also the sight we have of less tangible vibrations, energies, and realities.
